Rory Gallagher beats U2 and Skinny Lizzy to be voted Ireland’s Greatest New music Artist

Late blues guitar icon Rory Gallagher has been awarded the mantle as Ireland’s Finest New music Artist following a vote hosted by Dublin-dependent radio station Newstalk.

Gallagher, extensively regarded to be a single of the best and most influential blues rock electric powered guitar icons, beat a slew of the country’s musical heavyweights to win the posthumous award, which include Thin Lizzy and U2, who occupied second and third places respectively.
