The following Zoom speak to be element of the West Falmouth Library’s “Quintessential Cape & Islands” Sequence is set for Wednesday, May 26, at 7 PM. Titled “Art Talk: About the Cahoon Museum,” the converse will function the museum’s govt director, Sarah Johnson, using viewers on a tour of this nearby arts and society gem.
Individuals will learn about the history of The Crocker Home and Cape Cod artists Ralph and Martha Cahoon, who lived and worked in the historic dwelling. Ms. Johnson will share present and impending artwork exhibitions on see at the museum. The expense of this and all courses in the series is $8. Buy tickets via the library’s site.
Ms. Johnson is the executive and curator at the Cahoon Museum of American Artwork. She holds a Ph.D. in artwork history from the Graduate Heart of the City University of New York and a bachelor of arts diploma in artwork history from Pomona College in California.
Ms. Johnson has labored for more than 25 several years in the museum subject as an art historian, curator, and historic preservationist. She has formerly labored at the Museum of Modern-day Art, the Whitney Museum of American Artwork and the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Artwork, and has taught artwork background at the University of Visible Arts and Hunter College in New York City. Ms. Johnson lives in Falmouth with her spouse and daughter.
